Your first visit to Rocky Mountain Dental is all about making you feel welcome, informed, and confident. Here’s what you can expect when you come in for your first appointment at our Banff dental clinic.
Arriving at Our Bear Street Clinic
When you arrive at our clinic on Bear Street, you’ll find a calm, welcoming waiting area right in the heart of the Rockies. Our friendly front desk team greets every patient, offering a local touch whether you're from Banff, Bow Valley, or visiting from nearby communities.
Your First Steps: Greeting and Comfort
Your hygienist will greet you before any chair time, helping you settle in and feel at ease from the very start.
We believe in unrushed, generous appointment times, so you’ll never feel like you’re being hurried through your first visit. We always listen first, examine carefully, and walk you through what we see in plain language. There’s plenty of time for questions.
Comprehensive Oral Exam and Gentle Cleaning
At your first appointment, you will receive a thorough oral exam from one of our experienced dentists, followed by a gentle cleaning by a registered hygienist.
Digital X-rays are only taken if clinically needed to ensure you get the safest, most appropriate care.
Complimentary teeth whitening is included with every adult check-up and cleaning, so you leave with a brighter smile.
Children’s First Visits: A Positive Experience
If this is your child’s first dental visit, we focus on making the appointment short, fun, and comfortable. We do a visual exam of the gums and teeth and may take X-rays only if we need to check areas that cannot be seen visually.
Sometimes, we wait until the second visit to do a cleaning or any dental work to ensure your child stays relaxed and happy. We may also ask parents to wait in the reception area for part of the appointment to help your child build trust with our team.
Personalized Treatment Plans and Plain Costs
Once your exam is complete, you’ll receive a clear, written treatment plan outlining any recommended next steps. Our promise is honest, transparent costs, no surprises, and nothing happens until you are ready. Cost estimates are provided before you commit to any treatment.
We follow the Alberta Dental Fee Guide, so our fees are always fair and transparent.
Extra Care: Screening and Sedation
Every check-up includes an oral cancer screening as part of our routine care.
If you feel anxious, sedation options like nitrous and oral sedation are always available for a more comfortable experience.
Modern Equipment and Local Care
Our Banff dental clinic is fitted with modern digital imaging and up-to-date equipment, creating a comfortable and efficient visit every time.
We’re a family-friendly practice welcoming new patients of all ages, from toddlers’ first cleanings to seniors’ restorative needs, you’ll find care for the entire family under one roof.
Flexible Payment and Insurance Support
We offer direct insurance billing, support for CDCP and NIHB dental care, and flexible payment options, including 0% financing and payment plans through EP Care. If you ever have questions about billing, our team is here to help.
Same-Day and Emergency Appointments
We welcome walk-in and emergency appointments whenever our schedule allows, so if an urgent need arises before or after your first visit, you know where to turn.
Our Team and Our Promise
Every member of our dental team provides unhurried, caring service to Banff and Bow Valley families. You’ll be treated with respect and kindness at every step.
